This page and its contents are entirely
informational. As a former player, I recognize how difficult it is to
find what you need when you need it. I hope this helps.
The NFL (Management) and the NFLPA (Labor) are the primary
authorities in negotiating post career benefits provided to retired
NFL players through a collective bargaining agreement
and administering the majority of those benefits through the
NFL Player Care Foundation
On April 24, 2007 the NFL, NFL Players Association, NFL Retired
Players Association, NFL Alumni Association, NFL Charities and Pro
Football Hall of Fame announced the formation of "The Alliance" to
provide support services to former players.
In addition, a number of groups have cropped up due to poor
performance, lack of trust, and impropriety of fiduciary duties of
the primary authorities in administrating and or achieving acceptable
results for retirees. Multiple accounts of denial of benefits,
difficulty of retirees ability to actually completing complicated
application forms and other delay, dismiss and deny tactics
actually resulted in mental, physical, monetary loss and even death.
Recent congressional pressure (brought forth by the growing list of
advocacy groups) regarding the denial of the NFL to admit that
concussion has a long term detrimental affect on the brain has
forced the NFL and "Alliance" to show progress towards improved
working conditions for current player and improved disability
procedures for retirees.

many others have
all played key roles in bringing evidence to the forefront. In addition,
several of these groups have taken it upon themselves to find the
resources needed to help out their fellow teammates and NFL retirees.
It is my hope with these pages to compile a single resource for retirees
to find the help they need and point them in the right direction to
receive the benefits and other help which is available to them (us). I
am NOT an authority on these resources just another NFL retiree trying
to make sense out of what is available and how to get it. I fear that by
the time I need some of these resources the effects of my head injuries
may compromise my ability to understand how to get them. So, to the
extent that this serves a purpose for the loved ones of retirees, I hope
they are able to understand that there is no one simple answer. At least
there isn't yet one phone number, one address or one person you can call
to get all of this explained. The fight has been going on for years..
